Mirror Sport Interview

Alongside WWE UK Champion Pete Dunne the team of Moustache Mountain have spearheaded the new NXT UK brand.

The Midlands duo of Tyler Bate and Trent Seven captured the NXT Tag Team Championship from Undisputed Era earlier this summer.

Many fans’ highlight of the WWE UK Championship at London’s Royal Albert Hall was their epic win over Kyle O’Reilly and Roderick Strong.

Bate, 21, from Netherton, and Seven, 37, from Wolverhampton, dropped the titles back to UE on an episode of NXT but did not give up there.

They narrowly missed out on reclaiming the gold in a sensational match at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn 4 in New York last Saturday evening.

Now they will be part of the next set of NXT UK TV tapings at the Insomnia gaming festival at the NEC in Birmingham tonight and tomorrow.

The pair spoke to Mirror Sport’s Neil Docking about the heated feud, their strengths and ring style, and what a special weekend lies in store.

You’ve been involved in a great series of matches with Undisputed Era. Have you enjoyed the rivalry?

Trent Seven (TS): Oh yeah, very much so, it’s been quite the test. They are two of the best performers on the planet right now. They have had those titles for a long time so just to snatch them out of their grasp at the Royal Albert Hall was victory enough, but unfortunately we fell a little bit short in Brooklyn. But we have been very pleased with the reception to the matches.
Their match with Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch at NXT TakeOver: Chicago was incredible, so you had a high standard to follow, but I felt you achieved that on Saturday.

Tyler Bate (TB): Thank you.
